The Bakery at Strongbow has been a long-time favorite for those who delight in the sublime sweetness of the very best cakes, pastries, cookies, and breads. Our pastry chefs take great pleasure and pride in preparing all of the desserts, breads, and pastries served at Strongbow. One of their greatest enjoyments come from creating a custom dessert for your event.

250,000 pounds of turkey annually.

1940The original owners of Strongbow, owners of a turkey farm, were Dr. Walter Thrun and his wife, Bess. They opened Strongbow Inn in the early 1940’s. Strongbow not only had a dining room, there were also eight cabins for overnight guests and three gas pumps. strongbow1950 copy copyWhen Dr. Thrun passed away in 1951, Caroline Thrun Adams (Chuggie) and her husband, Chuck, remained and ran Strongbow for the next several decades.

In the 1980’s, turkeys disappeared from the property—but never from the menu as the tradition for the best turkey around continued on.

In 1993, Russ Adams and his wife, Nancy, purchased the restaurant from Russ’s parents.

In 2013, Luke purchased Strongbow from Russ and Nancy Adams. Luke is a third-generation, family-owned company that has diversified into various commercial divisions.

The Bakery Manager position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Bakery department.  The Manager is also responsible for the supervision of a team of partners working toward a common goal.  Responsibilities include duties in any position within the bakery.  In addition, this position is responsible for increasing guest confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent operating conditions, providing courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service and a friendly atmosphere in the department.

The kitchen staff is made up of Level 1 staff who are primarily responsible for food preparation.  Level 2 staff are primarily responsible for the preparation of salads.  Level 3 staff primarily work with hot food.  The kitchen staff is responsible for the preparation of food complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and the established food production programs and procedures.  In addition, the kitchen staff is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.  The kitchen staff must coordinate completion of tasks and cooperate with other employees, managers, and departments of the company to serve the needs of the customer.

The Event Maintenance and Setup team is responsible for the general cleanliness and set up and tear down of events on Strongbow property.  Coordinate completion of tasks and cooperate with other employees, managers, and departments of the company to serve the needs of the customer.

The primary responsibility of a Busser/Dishwasher is to reset tables in a speedy, professional, and effective manner as guests leave the restaurant.  Bussers/Dishwashers are also responsible for the grooming of the entire restaurant and its perimeters, as well as supporting servers and service staff with refills and clearing tables.  Other duties will be loading and unloading of the dishwasher, sanitizing will be expected as needs arise and may require the ability to cross train in the role of Event Maintenance.  Coordinate completion of tasks and cooperate with other employees, managers, and departments of the company to serve the needs of the customer.
